Brosnan sweeps 2025 ACRA Awards

October 16, 2025

We are thrilled to share that our project at the Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort took home three awards at the 2025 Australasian Concrete Repair and Building Remedial Association (ACRA) Awards in Sydney!

As the only New Zealand company represented at the awards, Brosnan faced stiff competition from the Australian remedial building industry in both the Multi-Residential building category and the Mega Project ($10 million+) category. The project came out on top in both categories and won the Michael Rutherford ACRA Remedial Building Excellence Award for the overall winner.

Our work on the $160 million, 161-room apartment and hotel complex at the Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort complex in Queenstown was recognised as an outstanding example of excellence in remedial construction.

The project encompassed all facets of the industry, including expert witness investigations, concrete repairs, waterproofing, structural strengthening, and refurbishments. Facing steep lakefront terrain, alpine weather, an evolving scope, and live hotel operations, the team applied exemplary quality, safety, and collaboration standards. The team showcased innovative techniques, resilient problem-solving, and strong stakeholder partnerships.

Representing Brosnan at the event were CEO Geoff Nash and the Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort team leadership - Regional Manager Reece Hutton and Senior Project Manager Mike Harrison, along with board and executive members.

“These awards truly mean a lot to us at Brosnan,” said Geoff Nash. “It’s been a privilege to be here alongside our peers this evening and be recognised for the unique work we do in the remedial sector that often goes unseen within the wider construction industry.”

The ACRA Awards acknowledge the technical complexity and collaborative delivery of works, which included full re-cladding, re-roofing, joinery replacement, and internal refurbishments. The building remained operational throughout construction, with over 75% of rooms available to guests.
