Lindis Lodge

Deep in the Ahuriri Valley, the Lindis Lodge was characterised by its intricate detail and high-end specification. The highly detailed hardwood roof structure, veneer panelling and natural stone finishes required extensive coordination and quality control processes. A flawless finish was achieved in terms of functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Due to its very remote location and subsequent exposure to inclement weather conditions, the project presented ongoing logistical challenges. These factors, coupled with evolving client expectations, required our project team to be highly adaptable and solution-focused whilst keeping the client fully informed of budget and scheduling implications attached to the developing brief.

Our approach to the site’s logistical challenges was to use highly accurate survey equipment whilst working closely with the design team. This equipment was used to transfer the 3D model information from the computer model to the building site, ensuring the accuracy and quality of the structural frame installation that formed the geometric shape template.

Only by having this ability to regularly, accurately and easily communicate and transfer the design model, or the as-built form, between the design office and the site could the risks around the geometric complexity and remote nature of this project be controlled.

The finished building has achieved the client’s objective of establishing Lindis Lodge as a flagship property and one of the most luxurious accommodation options in New Zealand. Brosnan was subsequently engaged to construct the next luxury property for the client’s portfolio.
