Parkwood Apartments

Comprehensive remediation and upgrade of Parkwood Apartments
Parkwood Apartments, an eight-storey, 27-unit complex in Newmarket, is undergoing a comprehensive remediation after previous repair efforts failed 12 years ago. Brosnan was engaged under an ECI agreement in 2021, leveraging experience from the successful M-One Apartments project.
The scope includes a new Alucolux panel façade, complete demolition and rebuilding of all perimeter walls, new kitchens and bathrooms, a warm roof system, upgraded balconies with waterproofing, and replacement of glass balustrades, roof-top plant, and extract ducting.
Early collaboration with the client, engineers, and architects led to the development and testing of prototypes, allowing the team to refine the design and construction sequencing. Issues such as parapet strength for abseiling loads were addressed during the ECI phase. The project is progressing to a high standard, with strong teamwork, careful planning, and effective communication ensuring quality outcomes and successful programme management.
